DuPage Forest Preserve
Foundation Mechanics was awarded a subcontract to provide a turn-key foundation design and construction for a 100′ pedestrian bridge for the DuPage Forest Preserve at Whalon Lake. Helical piles were an efficient system used for the deep foundation system need due to the presence of uncompacted fills at the proposed abutment locations. Though purchased by the General Contractor, Foundation Mechanics assembled and erected the bridge structure as part of the Subcontract.
